Open Access Journals

Many scholarly journals focused on LGBTQ Studies are not published in an open access format. This means that their content is hidden behind a paywall, for those not affiliated with a university or other institution. The publications below are entirely open access, so their full contents are available online.

Open Gender Journal – Germany

Canadian Online Journal of Queer Studies in Education – Canada

Online Exhibits

Digital exhibits can be a great way to illuminate content that is typically hidden in physical archives. LGBTQ materials are more likely to be held in a broad variety of institutions, lacking the meaningful context required to bring them fully to life.

We’re Here, We’re Queer, and We’re in the Public Record! The LGBTQ Movement and Life as Seen Through Government Information.

GLBT Historical Society – A selection of online exhibits based on their collections, Bay Area focus.
